Campden Tablets 50 capsules
Campden tablets are capsules of potassium metabisulfite used to prevent oxidation and growth of wild yeast, mold, and bacteria in must or wine.
How to use with must & juice: Campden tablets can be added to fresh must or juice 24 hours prior to adding the wine yeast. Add 1 capsule per gallon, tablets must first be crushed and dissolved in a small amount of the juice or water. This mix is then stirred thoroughly into the rest of the batch. Adding wine yeast 24 hours later is vital to having a complete fermentation.
How to use with wine: Ensure fermentation is complete before adding the campden tablets to the wine. This can be done using a hydrometer and checking to see if there are any small bubbles rising in the wine. Add 1 capsule per gallon to preserve the wine color and flavor as well as prevent microbial spoilage and fight off oxygenation. Crush and dissolve in a small amount of the wine or water. This mix is then stirred thoroughly into the rest of the batch.
